A TRIBUTE TO OUR PRECIOUS DAUGHTER CHARLENE PAGE
FOREVER YOUNG - BORN 29TH SEPTEMBER 1985
BORN TO ETERNAL LIFE 6TH JULY 2005
Our beautiful daughter Charlene Page (only child) was born on the 29th September 1985.When we looked at her we immediately felt overwhelmed with love.We looked at this small bundle....so perfect in every way and knew that we had been blessed. We instinctively felt that we would love, treasure and nurture her forever.
Charlene was a very happy and content child. She smiled at a very early age and throughout her life continued to be known for her huge smile. This is the way that her family and friends will always remember her.
Charlene was never lonely due to being an only child. She made friends very easily and was seldolm seen on her own.She was always surrounded by her friends.
I can remember thinking on her first day at school "i hope she is ok and meets new friends" but i needn't have worried as she did this with ease.It was easy to see that this was due to her happy and bubbly personality.
Charlene was a bit of a "tom boy" in her youth. She was very accident prone and i lost count of the amount of times we had to visit the casualty department with broken bones or fractures. She never took life that serious and believed that life should be fun.
She grew up to be a "typical teenager".School was not that important to her....well at least not the academic side of things. She was a popular kid
who enjoyed the social side of life. She was always too chatty at school but so full of life. Her teachers seemed very fond of her even although they would get frustrated with all her chatting.
As Charlene reached adulthood her mottos in life were "live life to the full" and "always look after your loved ones".She had a brilliant sense of humour and would take every oppertunity to cheer her friends up when they were feeling "down".She was very friendly to everyone and really was a "peoples person".After leaving school Charlene went to college to study "Travel and Tourism" she also continued to work in a clothes shop part-time.She loved working there and was very fond of all her colleagues. She would keep them all going with her wicked sense of humour and because she was the youngest member of staff the others sort of took her under their wing. Her colleagues called her the "wean" which she liked and respected.
Charlene passed away on 6th July 2005 aged 19 years from "sudden adult death".
She had never had any health problems or any symptoms to alert us that anything was wrong. She had always appeared fit and healthy. Her death was very sudden and unexpected. How could this have happened?.The pathologist report could only tell us that Charlenes passing was due to some form of heart defect. He explained that this did happen to young people even although they may not appear ill or have any particular symptoms.........almost like a time bomb ticking away.
As Charlenes parents we are devastated. We will investigate more about this condition and help to raise awareness as their are few people who know about SADS (SUDDEN ADULT DEATH).
We would like all parents to be aware of sads and would really appreciate if you would take some time to look at the C.R.Y (cardiac risk in the young) website.
Both of us would also like to thank you for visiting Charlenes memorial site. Please feel free to contribute to this and remember to let us know that you have visited by lighting a candle in our daughters memory. It would really mean so much to us
Love Liz and Roddy the proud parents of our precious daughter Charlene.
Charlene we love and miss you loads
Always in our thoughts
Forever in our hearts
Love mum and dad xxx
